Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 October 2026

1. About this policy

Train4Life is operated by Aaron Paul Fulton (ABN 97 384 908 556), trading as Train4Life (“Train4Life”, “we”, “us”, “our”). We provide online and in-person baby and child first aid education.

This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can access, correct or complain about it. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

This policy applies to our website train4life.net.au, our online courses, our in-person and live workshops, our emails, and our social media and advertising.

2. What personal information we collect

Depending on how you deal with us, we may collect:

  • Contact details: your name, email address, phone number and, if you give it, your postal address.
  • Account and course information: your login details, the courses you’ve bought, your course progress, quiz results and course completion records.
  • Purchase information: what you bought, when, the amount paid, any discount code used, and limited payment details from our payment provider (such as card type and the last four digits). We never see or store your full card number.
  • Workshop and booking information: for in-person or group sessions, attendee names, the organisation booking (such as a childcare centre or community group), the venue, and invoice and payment details.
  • Enquiries, feedback and reviews: what you tell us when you contact us, complete a survey, or leave a review.
  • Marketing preferences: whether you’ve subscribed to our emails, and whether you open or click them.
  • Website and device information: your IP address, browser and device type, pages you visit, how you arrived at our site (for example, from a Facebook or Google ad), and actions you take such as starting a checkout or completing a purchase. This is collected through cookies, pixels and similar tools (see section 5).
  • Photos and video: we sometimes take photos or video at workshops for our website and social media. We only use images in which you can be identified with your permission, and you can say no at any time.

Health information. We don’t ask for health information. If you choose to tell us about your own or your child’s health, for example when asking a question in a session or by email, we only use it to answer you. We don’t use it for marketing, and we don’t share it unless the law requires it.

Children. Our courses are for adults (18+). We don’t knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Please don’t send us photos or identifying details of children.

Staying anonymous. You can browse our website and ask general questions without telling us who you are. You’ll need to give us your name and email to buy a course, book a workshop or join our email list.

3. How we collect it

  • From you, when you buy a course, create an account, book a workshop, fill in a form, download a free resource, join our email list, or contact us.
  • Automatically, through cookies, the Meta Pixel, Google tags and similar tools when you use our website (see section 5).
  • From others, such as our payment provider (to confirm your payment), an organisation that books a workshop for its staff or clients, or advertising platforms (which give us reports about how our ads performed).

If we receive personal information we didn’t ask for and don’t need, we’ll destroy or de-identify it as soon as practicable, where lawful to do so.

4. Why we use it

We use personal information to:

  • give you access to the courses you’ve bought and run your account;
  • process payments, issue invoices and receipts, and handle refunds;
  • organise and deliver workshops, including confirming attendance with the organisation that booked;
  • reply to enquiries and give support;
  • send you emails about Train4Life, where you’ve agreed to receive them (see section 7);
  • show you relevant ads on Facebook, Instagram and Google, and measure whether our ads work (see section 5);
  • understand how people use our website so we can improve it and our courses;
  • prevent fraud and keep our website secure; and
  • meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.

We won’t use your information for a purpose you wouldn’t reasonably expect without your consent, unless the law allows or requires it.

5. Advertising, cookies and tracking

We advertise on Facebook and Instagram (Meta) and on Google. To do this, our website uses tracking tools from these companies. We don’t sell your personal information.

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Some are needed for our website to work (for example, keeping you logged in). Others help us understand traffic and run advertising.

Meta Pixel. This tool tells Meta when someone visits our site, starts a checkout or makes a purchase. Meta may link this to your Facebook or Instagram account. We use it to show our ads to people likely to be interested, to show reminder ads to people who have visited our site, and to measure our results. We only receive summary reports, not information that identifies you.

Google Ads tag and Google Analytics. We use, or may use, these Google tools. The Google Ads tag works like the Meta Pixel for ads on Google Search, YouTube and Google’s partner sites. Google Analytics tells us, in summary form, how visitors find and use our website.

Meta and Google handle this information under their own privacy policies: Meta Privacy Policy and Google Privacy Policy.

How to opt out:

6. Payments (Stripe)

All online payments, invoices and direct debits are processed by Stripe. When you pay by card, BECS direct debit or a Stripe invoice, you enter your payment details directly into Stripe’s secure system. We never see or store your full card or bank account number.

Stripe shares with us your name, email, the amount paid, and limited details such as card type and last four digits. Stripe may also use your information to prevent fraud and meet its own legal obligations. See the Stripe Privacy Policy.

If you pay by manual bank transfer, we’ll see the name and reference that appear on our bank statement.

7. Emails and marketing

We’ll only send you marketing emails (such as newsletters, free resources and course offers) if you’ve signed up or otherwise agreed, as required by the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, or you can email ask@train4life.au. We’ll process your request within 5 business days, free of charge.

You’ll still receive emails about your purchases and account (such as receipts, login details and workshop reminders) after you unsubscribe.

8. Who we share information with

We share personal information only with service providers who help us run Train4Life, and only what they need to do their job:

ProviderWhat they do for usWhere data may be held

We may also share information:

  • with our accountant, lawyer or other professional advisers;
  • with a buyer or successor if the Train4Life business is sold, who would be bound by this policy; and
  • with government, police or regulators when the law requires or allows it, or to prevent a serious threat to someone’s life, health or safety.

9. Overseas disclosure

As the table above shows, some providers store or process information outside Australia, mainly in the United States and the European Union. We choose well-established providers that have strong security and their own privacy commitments, and we take reasonable steps to ensure they handle your information consistently with the APPs.

10. Automated decisions

We don’t use computer programs to make decisions that could significantly affect your rights or interests. Course quizzes are marked automatically, but this only shows your learning progress and doesn’t affect your access or refunds. Meta and Google use their own automated systems to decide which ads people see; this is covered by their privacy policies.

11. How we store and protect your information

Your information is stored electronically with the providers listed in section 8. We protect it with measures such as password-protected accounts, two-factor authentication where available, encrypted (HTTPS) connections, and limiting access to people who need it.

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy. Purchase and financial records are kept for at least 5 years to meet tax law. When we no longer need information, we delete or de-identify it.

12. Data breaches

If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we’ll tell you as soon as practicable, explain what happened and what you can do, and notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) where required.

13. Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing ask@train4life.au. You can also update your details in your account on our website. We’ll respond within 30 days, and there’s no charge. If we can’t give you access or make a correction, we’ll explain why in writing.

14. Complaints

If you think we’ve mishandled your personal information, please email ask@train4life.au with the details. We’ll acknowledge your complaint within 5 business days and aim to resolve it within 30 days.

If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example when we start using a new service. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
